Element Six (E6) has been recognised by Style Acre, a charity that enhances the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism, with an Inspiration Award at the 2020 Oxfordshire Care Awards.
The E6 team has provided volunteering support and specialist skills to Style Acre since 2017 as part of the Anglo American and De Beers Group ‘Ambassadors for Good’ programme. This has enabled the charity to run a successful series of Oxfordshire-based programmes, accessible to over 250 people with learning disabilities and autism.
In nominating Element Six for the Inspiration Award, which acknowledges organisations that lead by example thanks to their high standards of care and compassion, Style Acre recognised the Element Six volunteers for their "enthusiasm, dedication and positivity". The nomination also highlighted that the programmes supported by E6 "had a huge impact on people’s daily lives".
Hannah Trimble, Project Lead for the Ambassadors for Good Style Acre initiative, said: "Style Acre is a wonderful charity and it has been a pleasure to be able to help them make a difference to the lives of so many people." As part of their support for Style Acre, Element Six, has acted as the charity’s champion in securing access to the Ambassadors for Good funding, work experience placements and hands-on activities at Element Six’s Global Innovation Centre, as well as a supply of virtual headsets to the charity. During 2020, Element Six has also been involved in expanding Style Acre’s wellbeing programme and has continued to support an initiative to increase participation in sustainable gardening.
Siobhán Duffy, Executive Director of Sales & Marketing at Element Six, said: "We’re proud to support the global Ambassadors for Good programme which gives our team the opportunity to use their skills and passion to help social projects in their local communities. One of Element Six’s values is ‘Show We Care’, and these projects and activities demonstrate exactly our commitment to nurturing, developing and celebrating the people who are part of E6 and the communities around them. We are grateful to Style Acre and the Care Awards committee for this award, and look forward to continuing our charitable work throughout 2021."
