Advice on the Coronavirus Outbreak

For the latest information on the Coronavirus and advice on how to contain it, please check the .Gov website here.

Based on the scientific advice of SAGE the UK Chief Medical Officers are advising anyone who has travelled to the UK from mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia or Macau in the last 14 days and is experiencing cough or fever or shortness of breath, to stay indoors and call NHS 111, even if symptoms are mild.

Harwell is a busy and international community, which travels extensively and also hosts people on a daily basis from all over the World.

As such we must all be mindful of Coronavirus risks, which may logically require the changing of plans now with regard to inbound visitors to Harwell and outbound staff travel (for work related reasons and also domestic ones, such as half term school holidays).  Be advised that changes have already been made in some cases by organisations on Campus – including in relation to “Elevated Risk Areas”, additional to China and Hong Kong that are “High Risk”.

To assist Campus organisations and people with all of this, the Campus Management Team have written the following advice protocol. please click here
