Works Coordinator Technician

We are currently seeking a technician to coordinate programmes of work and to support our scientists at the ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. Working within this high profile and exciting facility you will ensure key infrastructure is operational and coordinate key maintenance work.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate building and maintenance tasks to minimise the disruption to the experimental programme.
  • Ensuring all contractors are suitably proficient for the work they are going to carry out.
  • Ensuring risk assessments have been completed and are in place for the work.
  • Management and maintenance of all experimental pressurised gas systems and extract systems.

We are looking for someone with:

  • An NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience, in a relevant engineering/technical subject area.
  • A good understanding of mechanical maintenance practices and building maintenance.
  • The ability to manage experimental gas systems and extract systems.
  • Good communication skills in order to work closely and effectively with our team of engineers and technicians and also with external contractors.
  • Excellent organisation skills to support coordination of the programmes of work.
