Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire is one of the leading science and innovation locations in the UK. The Campus Partnership has an extensive programme of development providing laboratories, offices, engineering and technology buildings mainly for private companies active in the science sector. These developments will be delivered to an established masterplan for the 700 acre site that successfully facilitates collaboration between business, research organisations and academia and focuses on creation of place through infrastructure, landscape, amenity and community enhancement.
The Campus Partnership has a Sustainability Strategy and a number of project delivery and campus-wide interventions ongoing that reach across sustainability in its widest sense alongside health & wellbeing and opportunities for innovation.
The Sustainability Manager will:
- drive the strategic targets, lead the nett zero carbon programme
- deliver sustainable aspects of new projects and existing asset improvements
- capture data and monitor and communicate progress and achievement of goals
- collaborate with campus partners and stakeholders both internal and external.
The successful candidate will preferably have experience of managing sustainability measures in a built environment setting.
The Sustainability Manager will work as part of a team on new building or infrastructure projects, alongside the Development & Construction Director, Infrastructure Manager, Construction Environment Manager, and external consultants and will also have responsibility for independent sustainable initiatives together with providing assistance to the Asset & Estates, Leasing and Marketing Teams where their work requires sustainability support.
