Graduate Systems Engineer

Celestia Technologies Group (UK) Ltd is part of an international technology group developing solutions for Aerospace, Defence, Telecommunications and Scientific markets. There is a rich pedigree of Product Development in Antenna, RF and Modem design for different Satcom & Terrestrial Systems. With increasing commitments and anticipated growth, we are now seeking to hire several engineering and development roles across a broad range of technical domains including DSP Systems, Algorithm design, RF design, Antennas, PCB development, Test & Validation engineering and Product Development. Despite the unusual circumstances in 2020, Celestia UK have continued to expand operations with a new site in Edinburgh; and similar growth is anticipated in 2021. Develop and enhance signal processing models and embedded software for cutting edge communication technologies for deployment on DSP and/or FPGA platforms

Develop automatic (scripted) test routines for regression and verification

Participate in bring-up and demonstration of new product prototypes in the lab

Take ownership of your tasks; plan and execute in line with project needs

Document and disseminate your works in line with project wide expectation

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance signal processing models and embedded software for cutting edge communication technologies for deployment on DSP and/or FPGA platforms
  • Develop automatic (scripted) test routines for regression and verification
  • Participate in bring-up and demonstration of new product prototypes in the lab
  • Take ownership of your tasks; plan and execute in line with project needs
  • Document and disseminate your works in line with project wide expectation
  • Report to Technical (Project) Manager

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Good mathematical skills
  • Programming experience in C/C++.
  • Self-motivated and able to pick up new skills quickly through informal training
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and competent working on either Windows or Linux
  • Strong academic background in with a Masters or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar
  •  

Desirable

  • Familiarity with any Wireless Digital Communications system via coursework, with hands on experience in the lab
  • Good understanding of real time embedded systems
  • Good understanding of floating and fixed point arithmetic
  • MATLAB, Python and shell scripting experience
  • Experience working with DSP and/or FPGA platforms

Experience working with configuration management tools (e.g. Git, SVN).
