The post advertised is for a Senior Radiation Protection Scientist within CRCE’s Radiation Emergency Response Group. The Emergency Response Group coordinates the arrangements for PHE’s specialist radiation emergency response function for public health protection, drawn from across the Centre. The Group provides a technical lead on a variety of policy, applied research and development, scientific work concerning emergency preparedness, response and resilience. The job includes leading on provision of specialist training, projects including commercial consultation work, and contributing to specific policy and advice areas. It is expected that the post holder will have a key role in responding to radiological emergencies and may be required to undergo security vetting.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can apply scientific knowledge and skills to a complex political and technical work area. Candidates should be prepared to travel nationally and internationally, be good at working under pressure, have excellent organisational skills and have a flexible approach to working arrangements.

Salary £37,154 - £44,019 per annum
