I09 is an undulator beamline delivering both soft and hard x-rays for research exploiting x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, near-edge absorption spectroscopy and x-ray standing waves. The beamline supports a strong user community conducting studies of a wide variety of materials ranging from electron correlations in oxides, cationic/anionic redox in Li-ion batteries, to geometric structures of monolayers of two-dimensional materials.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to carry out studies exploiting hard x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) in the field of transition metal oxide heterostructures. Candidates are encouraged to describe their research interests and proposed projects in their applications. The successful candidate is expected to interact with the beamline users and support their experiments in the science areas relevant to his/her projects and will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and commissioning of the beamline end-stations.
The post holder should have a PhD degree in physics, chemistry or related field with a good record of conducting high quality original research. Experience and knowledge of x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) or angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) is desirable.
