The University of Manchester at Harwell - Introduction to National Facilities - Diamond Synchrotron

Dec 16
Book Event

Bringing together expertise in the field of synchrotron imaging from Diamond Light Source and The University of Manchester.

This is the first seminar in the University of Manchester at Harwell Ideas Forum Imaging series.

The aim of this series is to increase networking of academics and researchers across the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the National Laboratories. In doing so, we hope to link experienced users with new users to teach them about the University of Manchester and the Harwell National Facilities.

This first seminar, given by Professor Steve Collins, Physical Sciences Coordinator for Data Science, will explain what Diamond Light Source is and how synchrotron radiation can be used for science. Professor Collins will illustrate with case studies, how diffraction, spectroscopy and imaging have been used at Diamond to look at samples ranging from exploding magmas to the inside of batteries.

A zoom link will be sent to attendees the day before the event.
